The rates apply three days pre and/or three days post convention with advanced reservation notice, subject to availability.Rates include the hot breakfast bufffet and complimentary valet parking. You may make reservations beginning now by calling the reservation department at 937-229-9835. Identify yourself and request the group rate for VP-8 Alumni Association Reunion. All reservations must be guaranteed for arrival by deposit in advance or confirmed with a credit card. CUT OFF DATE for HOTEL: 12:01 a.m. May 13, 2013. Some Perks from the hotel: k One complimentary overtnight room for the reunion plannner. kComplimentary welcome reception which includes assorted cheese and fruit, fresh vegetables with dip, coffee and punch kHospitality room for the duration of the reunion with cups, napkins, ice and 2 mini refrigerators provided--we can bring snacks and beverages including alcohol. Larry says there is also shuttle service provided which will take us shopping or back to each venue if we so desire , provided they are not tied up at the airport, etc..
Stars Rooftop Restaurant at the hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel tells me they will have a new menu out before we go. There are also a number of other restaurants in the area--fast food and sit down.

When I last talked with Larry, he asked me to encourage each of you to go ahead and reserve your room at the hotel, even at this early date, so we can have an early head count of attendees. This also helps me be able to get the name badges made up early. The hotel has assured us that reservations can be canceled up to the last minute. I have decided to go ahead and include the registration form on page 7 in this newsletter--please note that price for the reunion itself is only $112.75. Note that on the registration form you must make a choice of sandwiches for a box lunch on thursday.Very reasonable, so I encourage to attend, especially those of you in NY, PA, OH, IN, IL, and other states close by.

For those of you who have never attended a reunion and are reluctant to come, let me urge you to try it o at least once. If you don't know anyone when you come, I can assure you that you will know many people and form new bonds before you leave, just as we did. When we attended for the first time, we only knew 2 people, but have made many lasting friendships. So give it a try---if you don't have a good time, you don't have to come back, but if you don't come at least once, you'll never know if you would have had a good time! Seek me out, and I will be sure to introduce to someone. And wives, this is not just a "guy" thing. We ladies have a great time, too, just by hanging out, having a lot of laughs, and maybe doing a little shopping. What woman doesn't like that! The auction is fun because there's always something to interest the ladies--plus you can win some money. I expect to see you!! By the way, check out page 4 for new T-shirts that you can order before the reunion. Reunion 2013--yes, that's what I said. Be thinking of where you might like to go, and if you would like to plan the next one. If you decide you'd like to plan one in your hometown or surrounding area, come to the business meeting on Saturday morning with a proposal and a plan. It takes a lot of work, but anyone who has done it before will be glad to help.
