ATTENTION! LAST CALL! This is the last time that the reunion registration will appear in the newsletter. Please note page Deadline for registering is October 1. You must register in advance--you cannot just walk in, except for the business meeting. Remember to bring something for the auction. Banquet is "Dress Up." Great DJ signed on for the Banquet! Be sure that you have a picture ID for when we go on the base!! kRealized that I did not include Hotel information in last newsletter. Cut off date for the hotel is Sept. 26, 2011. Check the latest mailed out newsletter for two sets of driving directions on page 4. In a recent email, Beth reminded us that 2011 is th 25th Anniversary of the organization of VP8 Alumni Association. This should be a big celebration, so we want any of you who possibly can to show up, especially if you were there at the beginning. The CO, CDR Chris Flaherty, and the Command Master Chief, Frank King, have both been invited to the banquet.
For those of you who have never attended a reunion and are reluctant to come, let me urge you to try it o at least once. If you don't know anyone when you come, I can assure you that you will know many people and form new bonds before you leave, just as we did. When we attended for the first time, we only knew 2 people, but have made many lasting friendships. So give it a try---if you don't have a good time, you don't have to come back, but if you don't come at least once, you'll never know if you would have had a good time! Seek me out, and I will be sure to introduce to someone. And wives, this is not just a "guy" thing. We ladies have a great time, too, just by hanging out, having a lot of laughs, and maybe doing a little shopping. What woman doesn't like that! The auction is fun because there's always something to interest the ladies--plus you can win some money. I expect to see you!! By the way, check out page 4 for new T-shirts that you can order before the reunion. Reunion 2013--yes, that's what I said. Be thinking of where you might like to go, and if you would like to plan the next one. If you decide you'd like to plan one in your hometown or surrounding area, come to the business meeting on Saturday morning with a proposal and a plan. It takes a lot of work, but anyone who has done it before will be glad to help.

6. Tour Jacksonville / Return to hotel approx 3:15 pm.

2. 9am - Alumni Business Meeting & Auction

Afternoon: Optional Visit to Museum of Science and History or Museum of Contemporary Art or Cummer Museum & Gardens.

2. Morning: open for church or sleep-in.. and
3. Afternoon walk and sighteeing at the Jacksonville Riverfront.
4. 5pm - VP8 Alumni & Guests - Dinner/Dance Banquet at Hotel.
Oct. 24th (Mon.) /
1. Optional Continental Breakfast in Hospitality Room *
2. 9:15am - 4pm: Bus Tour of St. Augustine, FL. with Lunch and shopping on your own on historic St. George Street.
9:15am Meet in Hotel Lobby
9:30am Bus departs Crowne Plaza
10:15am Arrive at St. Augustine
12:15pm - Drop off at Visiters Ctr for Lunch and Shopping
3:00pm Bus departs for return to Crowne Plaza Hotel
3:45pm Arrive at hotel
Oct 25th (Tue.) /

2. 10:30am to 1:30pm Private Riverboat Cruise/Tour with lunch on St Johns River
10:30am Meet in Lobby for Riverboat Cruise and Lunch
